Inner displaced indexing cam mechanism has prominent advantages of much indexing number and high load-capacity. It might be widely used in the future. The thesis establishes CAD system of inner displaced indexing cam mechanism by using optimization design method and three-dimensional parametric design method. The system improve the efficiency of design and laid the foundation for the subsequent series production.Firstly, meshing force and the relative sliding velocity between the cam and needle gear is calculated with considering the frictional force in this thesis. We conclude the cam’s efficiency curve with the dimensionless time changing by combining the efficiency analysis of the cam, and analysis the influence of key size parameters on the average efficiency of the cam.Secondly, based on the volume of the assembly and transmission efficiency of the prototype as optimization object, the integrated multi-objective optimization design is carried out. Considering the rationality of the structure design, strength conditions, fitting and so on, optimization mathematical model is established and we solve it through the method of the branch and bound solution of discrete variable.Thirdly, the thesis concentrates on the research of secondary development technology based on UG platform. Combined with UG/Open secondary development tools and Visual C++6.0 compiler environment to realize the parametric design based on 3D models. By using the technique of KF, UG/Open MenuScript and UG/Open Ulstyler tools, we realize the parametric design based on knowledge engineering.Finally, On the basis of the theory of 3D parametric design, we combine optimization design and parametric design to establish a CAD system of facing optimized of the cam mechanism. The optimized design variables as the key variables of the parametric design. Under the premise of raising the rationality of design, we realized the parametric design, and it pays basis for series production with the different load and different indexing number conditions.
