As elevator accident occurred frequently, it got the wide attention of the society to make the safe operation of the lift problem. Most of the current domestic elevator only conduct regular inspection and maintenance. Maintenance personnel only come out of the question after regular inspection. Due to the wide extent of elevator, the efficiency of this approach is kind of low. In addition, when the elevator accident occurs, stranded passengers would be got secondary damage due to delay for rescue. Therefore, it is very urgent to study how to implement effective monitoring for the elevator. In order to reduce the incidence of elevator accidents, an elevator monitoring system is designed based on the Internet of Things(IoT). The system is based on STM32 and the implementation of network communication is based on LwIP. The elevator status data will be sent to a remote server and stored in the database. By analyzing the numbers and types of elevator failures, it can conduct a comprehensive assessment to elevator performance and provide a reference for elevator maintenance. It also integrates Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and video surveillance, which can appease the trapped passengers when elevator accident occurs. The design of uninterruptible power supply makes the system work properly at the event of power outages. Compared to similar products in the market, the cost of the system is about one fifth. Trial operation shows that the overall system design is reasonable. It can improve the efficiency of elevator maintenance and has a good prospect. The full text is divided into seven chapters. It can be divided into the following several parts:The first chapter is introduction. This chapter mainly introduced the project background of the elevator monitoring system based on Internet of things, the research status at home and abroad and the research content and structure of the paper. The second chapter is the elevator control system overall scheme. Mainly introduces the composition and workflow of the elevator monitoring system, which mainly introduced the elevator to realize the main functions of the data acquisition equipment. The third chapter is a peripheral device type selection. It introduces the data acquisition equipment selection is an external device such as sensors, network calls using a microphone, and camera used in video surveillance network, etc.The fourth chapter is the hardware circuit design. In this chapter the power supply, clock, network communication, VoIP, storage, and other peripheral input/output circuit are introduced. The fifth chapter is the software programming. The software is divided into the upper computer software and the software of single chip machine processor system. The application of single chip machine, total working process, structure, communication protocol, LwIP transplant Speex codec and remote upgrade are the main topic. The sixth chapter is to test the results and discussion. Before the elevator monitoring system was put into use, a series of tests are conducted, including the human body induction, ultrasonic ranging, network communications, Speex codec, voice calls, equipment power consumption, etc. This part of article contains the thorough discussion and proposed the corresponding solution. The seventh chapter is summary and outlook. The full text is summarized, and the several innovations of the system is pointed out. The future work is discussed, and some problems worthy of further research be found.
