South Of The Five Ridges Country Park Design

With the rapid development of urbanization and improvement of living standard in China, country park shoot out in many cities. Because of lack of construction theories, many country parks come out similar in plans and functions. During the construction of country park, people over pursuit speed with simple design techniques and ignore native cultural characters and Vernacular features. In the end, these parks can’t meet demand on geographical and cultural belonging of Vernacular inhabitants.In this paper, different theories of country park design are collected; problems existing in country park development history are summarized. With comparing of country parks with city parks, scenery spots and other green spaces, this paper further clarify the uniqueness in location selection, function positioning and design philosophy of country parks. It also makes a detailed observation on characters and functions of country parks. Taking the south of five ridges area as country park location, this paper further presents regional features and Vernacular culture of country parks. From the macro level to study the location of the country park in south of the Five Ridges, urban and rural space layout, ecological corridors and the beautiful countryside planning. Then, from the micro level to discussed the principle of south of the Five Ridges design, project design, natural vernacular landscape design and humanities vernacular landscape design.In the last part, Yinzhan Country Park in Qingyuan is taken as an example to demonstrate the creation of regional features and Vernacular landscapes during country park design process in south of five ridges area.
