| Urban street space, already from the initial ordinary urban space transformed into complex urban public communication space, has regarded traffic as the main function, supplemented to meet the various needs of daily life. Streets have become the outdoor venues with highest usage rates where people are most likely to reach. The safety issue in the city’s streets has always been paid attention but never thought of solution. From falls, scratches to life threatened, the safety issues in the street space have never been resolved. Therefore, the safety issue in city streets should be paid much attention. The landscape is an important constituent of urban street space, which can be a starting point to developing analysis based on users’daily safety in the street space. From the view of streetscape design the thesis aims to explore how to meet the daily safety needs in street space.First of all, on the basis of literature and theoretical knowledge, safety index that people had a greater influence on the daily safety in the street space will be chosen.By using AHP (analytic hierarchy process) to build evaluation model of daily safety in urban street space and the results in expert questionnaires, the weights of evaluation index that affect daily safety in the city street space will be determined. The results illustrate that:(1) Decision-making level:behavior safety (0.8259)> psychological safety (0.1741).(2) Element level:road traffic (0.4857)> street facility (0.1436)> road pavement (0.1353)> identifiability of street environment(0.1124)> instant background of street environment (0.0613)> quality of street environment (0.0358)> privacy of street space(0.0258).(3) Index level, the first five:design of car road and walking road (0.2576)> organization of walking space (0.1752)>pavement material (0.0732)>tag system (0.0720)>transition of road space (0.0529)Index level, the last five:air quality (0.0038)<psychological space (0.0040)<street planting (0.0045)<territorialism (0.0056) Environmental health (0.0074)Next, take Shenyang as an example, satisfaction survey of daily safety in city street will be conducted to the public. Finally, based on the results of weight of evaluation index and the usage of AHP-FCE model, from the view of subjectivity and objectivity, combined with qualitative and quantitative, daily safety in Shenyang street space will be evaluated and analyzed. The research results illustrate that:(1) Vehicles and environment are the main risking sources for daily safety in city street space.(2) Daily safety need in the street space includes psychological safety needs and behavior safety needs. According to the results of research, the study direction of the daily safety in city street landscape will be determined. Based on city street landscape design of the psychological safety, the study will be developed from the view of plant landscape and landscape lighting. Based on city street landscape design of behavior safety, the study will be further explored from the design of walking road and public service facilities. In the end, the goal is to explore approach and method to create a suitable safety design of urban streetscape to meet the daily safety needs and reflection on the limitations of the research. |
