The Research Of Chengdu City Location In The Perspective Of Ritual System

Ritual system is the important concept of ritual law system in ancient China. It comprehensively and deeply affected multiple aspects of the ancient society, politics, economy, culture, social structure, etc.It is the etiquette basis and standard of conduct for feudal rulers to maintain their dominate position.In ancient China, city site selection is a complex problem, it’s a collection of politics, economy, society, military, geography, meteorology, disaster prevention, aesthetics and other multi-disciplinary. From the initial formation and development of the settlement to the grand feudal construction of the city, the ancients accumlated rich historical experience in the long-term practice of city site selection and summarized a set of urban location theory of traditional Chinese wisdom.Facing the complex problem of the city location, this article obtains from the perspective of ritual, and take Chengdu city as an example to analyse how ritual system thought affect urban location. Chengdu city as one of the most important cities in southwest China,not only has a long history and a unique history status. Since Zhang Yi and Zhang Ruo built the Chengdu city in the Qin dynasty, Chengdu has experienced the rise and fall for more than two thousand years. In such a long historical process, Chengdu city had a form of two-citytied and multiple-city stand, it had a period of being capital and falling. In such a complex historical process, the ritual system thought has what kind of impact to Chengdu location and what is the inner link between them, are the key points of this article.Chapter One. introduction. To elaborate the research background of the study, combined with the existing research results and the related literature to determine the purpose, significance and methods of the research, and to clear the research content and framework.Chapter Two, the relevant theoretical research. To definit the concepts of ritual system, Chengdu city and city site selection, analysis the literature review in recent years about ritual study and the set of etiquette, the location of the ancient city, and the location and history of Chengdu city.Chapter Three, the formation and evolution of the ritual system thought. Analyze the concept and characteristics of ritual, and analyze the origin and development of ritual, and the process of Confucianism by time sequence. To make clear of the development of ritual and the era characteristics for different stages and different dynasties, and to analyze and summarize its interal relationship.Chapter Four, overview of the development of Chendu city selecting in different period. Divided the historical development of Chengdu city into three stages:the times before Qin dynasty, Qin dynasty to Sui dynasty and Tang dynasty to Qing dynasty. Because in this paper, we study the time range from the end of the Qin dynasty to the Qing dynasty, so the Chengdu city of the times before Qin dynasty is only a brief overview. Detailing the time range of Qin dynasty to Sui dynasty and Tang dynasty to Qing dynasty, and changing process of Chengdu city in every historical stage.Chapter Five, the research of the influence about ritual system thought on Chengdu city selection. This chapter is the focus of the text, it analyzes the influence of ritual system on the site selection of Chengdu city in detail. It researches the influence of ritual system thought on the site selection,urban sprawl and the urban interal space change from the early location of Chengdu city, the developing of Chengdu city in Qin dynasty, the transformation in the process of Qin dynasty to Tang dynasty, to the development of Chengdu city in Qing dynasty after the Tang dynasty. And explain the pullback of the ritual and the city in the war.Chapter six, the internal mechanism analysis of the ritual system and the Chengdu city location. This chapter attempts to combine the ritual system thought in the development of history evolution, and combine with ritual factors in the process of Chengdu city site selection, to analyze the internal influence between them. And on this basis, to discuss the influence about ritual system on the city site selection brieflyChapter seven, conclusion. To get basic conclusion thoroughly in this paper, and point out the shortcomings of this paper.
