Character Of The Plane Layout Of Hangzhou Traditional Dwelling Historical Buildings

Hangzhou has published a total of 337 historic buildings by six times’ promulgation of the protect list since the year of 2005 when it started the work of protect and utilise the historical and cultural blocks and historical buildings. Among the 337 buildings,104 are the traditional dwellings. Setting the 104 buildings as research object, this paper firstly analysis the status of the buildings including the amount, location, construction time and the function base on the plane of the buildings. Then by using the graphic method, the paper summary the character of the plane layout of Hangzhou traditional dwelling historical buildings on three aspects:the relationship between site and city, the relationship between building and site, and the first plane layout of the buildings. The relationship between site and city aims at analysing the relationship between site and the road of the city and the buildings around, while the relationship between building and site analysis more about the layout of the building in the site. The first plane part contain two aspects, that is the relationship between hall and entrance,and the relationship between hall and courtyard. At the last part, the paper summary the main feature of the plane layout of Hangzhou traditional dwelling historical buildings and summary the notes should be noticed in the future protect working based on the characters.
