As the size of grid is increasing, the safety and economy of power grid’s operation became very important. To build a stronger grid sstructure and improve the economy ability is the main purpose during the grid design. At present, the 500KV power grid is the backbone of provincial power grid structure, its rationality is essencial for the safety and econommy of grid’s operation. The Feihe transformer substation is the key infrastructure project in the twelfth Five-year plan of Anhui grid. The design of Feihe substation determines the development of 500KV power grid in north of Anhui, therefore the research of Feihe substation system scheme is imortant.First, current power supply situation of Anhui province and Bengbu city was introduced, and then the necessity of construction of Feihe transformer substation was anlyzed. The construction of Feihe substation would bring beneficial effect on both Anhui 500kV grid architecture and Bengbu grid.Then, four 500kV system schemes were purposed according to the Anhui grid rooling program and location of Feihe transformer substation. Take technology, econemy and electrical calculation results into consideration, the best solution was confirmed. On the premise of meeting Bengbu grid power supply requiremnts, power transmission channels to Huaibei and Suzhou city were planned, which helped to meet the Anhui Power Transmission program demands.Beside the 500kV system scheme,220kV system scheme was purposed based on current situation of Bengbu 220kV grid.To verify the rationality of recommanded solution, a mathematical model was built and power flow, stable, short-circuit current, over-voltage and other electrical parameters were calculated. The capacity of main transformer and reactive power compensation scheme was purposed. The wire cross-section of cables, type of main transformmer, main electrical wiring was suggested.In the end, the construction capacity of Feihe transformer substation was anlyzed according to Anhui grid rooling develop program and the construction aim of Feihe substation. Considered of rationality, expansibility and economy, it is suggested that in the first pahse of the project,1 group of 1000MVA main transformer should be built, with a final plan of 3 groups of 1000MVA transformer.
