In power quality, reliability improvement, expanding supply capacity and cost-effective distribution network operation to achieve the goal of aspects, distribution automation is an important measure, in addition to smart distribution grids is an important basis for implementation. In the distribution network automation, distribution automation communication system in which important component is the key between the internal levels and many functions can be realized, it is responsible for the following functions, such as order processing or return information. If efficient and reliable communication is not available, then the data transfer, or distribution network and automated contact, it cannot achieve. Therefore, reliable and safe operation of the communication system in distribution automation, distribution automation is the basis for the target to be achieved.Currently the main distribution automation system communication technologies Ethernet passive optical network communication technology, industrial Ethernet technology, medium voltage power line communication technology, the wireless network technology, wireless private network technologies. In this paper, according to the function to achieve distribution automation system and communication requirements of several distribution automation communication technology solutions are compared, and compare their advantages and disadvantages, focusing on Ethernet passive optical network technology the principle and key technologies were studied and analyzed.This article focuses on the Taizhou Power Supply Company in automation communications embodiments of the aspects of the overall structure, the optical communication system design, optical cable construction are analyzed and summarized.
