The relay protection is an important part of power system, which is the first barrier for the power system safe and stable operation. The relay protection system of intelligent substation is different from that of traditional substation in system structure and components. It has an important significance to guarantee the safe operation of the power system with accurate reliability assessment, timely detection of weak point in the system of the relay protection system for intelligent substation. The research of intelligent transformer relay protection system configuration and a research summary based on the analysis of the go method is presented in this thesis. This thesis mainly includes the following contents:Firstly, system configuration and network architecture of intelligent substation and the composition of intelligent substation relay protection system were analyzed, while the difference between the intelligent substation and traditional substation were also briefly addressed in the thesis.Secondly, Chapter 3 introduced the basic concept and principle of the GO methodology, which involving common signal probability algorithm and go quantitative calculation method. GO methodology reliability of relay protection research model was established based on the analysis.Finally, the GO method is used to calculate the reliability of the main transformer protection, line protection and bus protection system of 220 kV gongdong intelligent substation. Results showed that the circuit protection reliability is larger than other protection, which indicating that the network configuration is the most reasonable protection due to too many components. According to the reliability analysis of relay protection system, the methods to improve the reliability of relay protection system were addressed in the final of the thesis.
