Although our country’s hydrypower resource is the richest in the world, but the automation technologies applicable to our small hydrypower stations are poor in contrast with that of the developed countries, expecially for the low voltage units, most of them are built before 90 s of last contrary. The equipments of the stations are obsolete and are mostly operated manually. So, it is imperative for them to be upgraded. But for the low capacity and low economic efficiency and low equipment cost, the automization device should be easy for operation and maintenance and with high cost performance.In the thesis, a low voltage unit integration automization system is designed and researched. In the work, based on the CAN fieldbus technology, and considering the featuers of the 400 V low voltage units, the functions such as monitoring, protection, exciting, synchronization, collection, and shielding are studied and integrated into one system.Besides, the hardware design and software design of the 400 V low voltage unit integration automization system based on CAN are studied and discussed. Also, an integration cabinet based on the automization controller is designed; the primary and sencondary devices are all integrated into this cabinet. So the operation of the station should be more safety, easy, economically. It may be expected that in the nearly further unattended or few on duty will come true! The integration system is very suitable for the small hydropower stations in our villages and should be generalized greatly.
