A Study On The Space Design Of University Library In Yunnan Based On Environmental Behavior

Along with the reform of higher education and the emphasis on independent study, the position of college library in higher education is becoming more and more important. Under the influence of the development of digital technology, the college library is in the period of digital transformation, the spatial pattern of it has changed, and the user also has more new request to it. In recent years, a large number of construction projects of college library were produced because of the construction of university town in Yunnan. It created an opportunity for the author to study the college library space design based on the Environmental Behavior.By utilizing Environmental Behavior, through literature study, field research, case analysis and design practice, model research and others, this thesis summarized the development history and future trend of library space model, studied the behavior mode and behavior needs of users in contemporary college libraries in Yunnan, and explored the strategies of designing library space in current colleges in Yunnan, aiming to fit the space of college library and the user’s behavior patterns better. Through the space design to guide the users’behavior in the library, the thesis improved the efficiency of the utilization and operation of a college library. From the users’ behavior pattern and the behavior demand, this thesis carried on the space design of library, which broke the former function dominating design pattern and provided the new methods for the college library design.Through the research, this thesis drew the following conclusions of space design of college library in Yunnan based on the Environmental Behavior:libraries should have distinctive characteristics of the times to meet the current demand of the users’behavior; should use the whole space design to meet the users’common needs; should use multiple space design to meet the users’individual needs.
