Study On The Relationship Between Plot Pattern And Land Use Index Of City Block

City block is the base element of city and it’s made up of a series of plot. The different plot pattern within the block will lead to different design condition of the plot in it, and then make a difference on the building in it. In china, people take no attention to the plot concept as the specific land system. So many city planer in china are so casually when they divide the block and attach the land use index. This phenomenon lead to many problem to the architect when they what to design a building in the plot.For more and more city problem, urban morphology is come up to analysis the urban form and find the law of city development in west country. Study on the city block and plot in the block is very important content in urban morphology. As the plot pattern within the block have a important influence on the urban form, planers will do many studies about it before the city are built. They want to know the relationship between the plot pattern within the block and the urban morphology through the study on the plot-scale. But since the city in china are different form the western city, whether the research are fit to Chinese city study are ambiguity. This study are trying to make sure the relationship between plot pattern and land use index of city block base on the former research in urban morphology.In this paper, we take the old town district and the Hexi new city area of Nanjing as the range of the study, take the city block as the research object, to study the urban form and land use index. At first, we analysis the plot pattern in nanjing and make a classification of the plot pattern in the block. Then we statistic the land use index of different block with different plot pattern and make a comparison to find out the difference. Through the result of the comparison we try to find the relationship between plot pattern and land use index of city block.
