Comparison Of Green Campus Standards Between China And America Combined With Case Evaluation And Optimization Research

Under the tide of green building, many countries introduce actively evaluation standards of green campus and develop the construction of green campus. China introduced the Green Campus Evaluation Standards (CSUS/GBC04-2013) (short for Standard in the following) subsequently. While compared with green campus evaluation standards of other countries, it is still in the start stage, in view of the current construction and development situation of green campus, it has many shortcomings. On one hand, the paper wants to improve the China’s evaluation standard by the comparison between standards, on the other hand, based on practical condition of China guided by STARS to provide the green campus construction of Zhejiang University with optimization strategy.Firstly, compared Standard with STARS2.0 in the three aspects:the organization model, methods and contents of evaluation, to analyze their difference and the reason caused the difference, therefore, combined with the current situation of China to research the suitability for applying STARS to assess the construction activities in China. Use the appropriate experience of STARS for reference and propose several suggestion for amelioration to Standard from the three aspects aimed at provding study basis to give a beter guidiance for China’s green campus construction.Secondly, implementing Standard and STARS to evaluate the current situation of green campus construction of the specific case of Zhejiang University. The evaluation results are one-star and silver prize, respectively, according to the score, there are considerable differences in the two evaluation system. Case study mainly leaded by STARS, propose targeted orientation and optimized improvement measures for the further green campus construction of Zhejiang University in two direction, moreover, it can be used to direct the new campus construction directly.
