Power grid planning plays an important role in meeting the social demand of electric power, guaranteeing the rapid economic development. Accurate planning can provide the basis for the power construction, consider the electricity demand for the users in advance, and save a lot of money for the country.This paper firstly analyzes the development of the social economy of Ningbo, and the status and the problems of Ningbo grid. Then it uses various methods to predict the short-term and medium-term Ningbo electricity consumption and maximum load, such as elastic coefficient method, the annual growth rate method, comprehensive production unit consumption, etc. Through the analysis of the relations between the Ningbo regional development and load growth, the power load growth of Ningbo in the future is forecast. Put forward the planning goals of the high voltage power grid and standard mode of the system connection. It has a certain guiding significance to the power grid construction of Ningbo in the next five years. Then it makes a plan for the high voltage power grid wiring according to the capacity load ratio requirements, and an arrangement for transformer substation construction project. At the same time, the future high voltage line corridor is planed, and proposals of how to control line corridor are putted forward.Through the future five-year plan of the Ningbo power grid, we can clear the direction of development of Ningbo power grid, further optimize the structure of network, solve the grid bottlenecks problem, eliminate high loss and old equipment, control grid security risks, improve the comprehensive economic benefits of power grid, power quality and power supply reliability, construct a resource-saving and environment friendly grid, solve the coordination problem between overall development plan and implementation of power grid. It will service the economic development of Ningbo much better.
