Since the entry of the industry transformation period, the creative industrial park transformed from the idle industrial heritage in the town center has become a popular construction project in China. Thus, the related transformation design research has become a research hotspot in the field of architecture. The paper chooses the industrial heritage buildings in the typically-transformed creative industry parks as the cases, extracts and analyzes the form characteristics, explores the prototype of the industrial architectural form and cultural connotations. In addition, the paper conducts the subjective evaluation survey of the character cognition on the representative building cases, analyzes their correlation by combining with the form characteristics, and provides the research basis for transformation buildings, instructional strategies for practice projects and optimized transformation design methods.Based on the typology theory, the paper first divides the typically-transformed industrial heritage buildings into masonry-concrete structure, frame structure and bent structure according to the structure selection. Then, the paper explores the attributive characters of the form components from the aspects of city, architecture and details. Moreover, the paper puts forward the methods for renovation transformation and renewal transformation, and analyzes their application effect. On the basis, the paper builds the semantic ontology model of form vocabulary through the Hozo Ontology software and explores the prototype of the types and their historical connotations. In addition, the paper carries out the character cognitive evaluation on the representative cases through semantic differences questionnaire, and grasps the main factors influencing the perceptual evaluation. By comparing the form characteristics and evaluation scores of the samples under various influencing factors, the paper analyzes their relations, summarizes the form characteristics that reflect the historical value of the industrial heritage and conform to the requirements of the creative industry in the public perceptual cognition, and sorts out the reconstruction methods in style and form, color scheme and building materials by combining with the contents of last chapter. Finally, the paper discusses the transformation designs of the main reserved buildings with different structure types in the renovation project of Shanghai Zhabei Machinery Factory, proposes the transformation design ideas based on the existing architectural form features, combines the layout of the function forms, puts forward optimization design schemes through the transformation method previously summarized, and sorts out the strategies of transforming industrial heritages into creative industrial parks.Through typological analysis and questionnaire survey, the paper studies the form characteristics and attributive characters of current typical industrial heritage building types in creative industry parks as well as the correlation with the architectural character, summarizes the reconstruction techniques and applies them to the practice projects, puts forward transformation strategies, and proposes related suggestions and prospects on the in-depth direction of the topics in future. Based on researches in the field of typology and perceptivity of psychology, the paper raises the scientific research and reasonable evaluation methods in theoretical aspects as well as the transformation design process of strategies and in the practical level, and provides advice and reference for the related architectural creation practice and engineering construction.
