Development Of RV Reducer Performance Tester

RV reducer is widely used in robotics, aerospace and other high-precision positioning devices, due to its wide transmission ratio range, high accuracy, compact structure and small hysteresis characteristics. Many research results related to RV reducer have been achieved both at home and abroad. However, research on RV reducer comprehensive performance tests are not that common. Therefore, a RV reducer comprehensive performance measuring tester is developed in this article,which can acquire RV reducer’s transmission error, friction moment and backlash rapidly and accurately after a simply one-time clamping. Main research involves the following:(1) Measurement principle and method studyBased on the principle of Structure and transmission theory of RV reducer, a thorough discussion is carried out on RV reducer’s comprehensive performance, including transmission error、backlash and friction torque, and the factors influencing of the performance parameters from design to assembly and to the use. Also,a measurement method suitable for RV reducer is proposed as the theoretical basis which is provided for the design of the measuring test.(2) Overall scheme designA couple of overall schemes for the measurement instrument are designed based on RV reducer measurement principles, which compares pros and cons among various schemes to get a final optimal scheme for the instrument design. Meanwhile, the working principle of the instrument is discussed. Main technical parameters and instrument components are given as well as the key technique in the instrument design.(3) The mechanical structure designConsidering the function, precision and costs of the instrument, mchanical structure of the instrument is designed, including: input components, and output components and RV reducer mounting bracket, etc. Among them, the input component is designed as a combo box with linear guide to adapt to the different forms of the RV reducer’s installation, as well as narrowed the overall size of the instrument; Designed a reed with double row holes which can connect the flange shaft and the axis of the circular grating system to ensure that the form of circular grating and reducer output shaft have the same rotation Angle, so as to improve the measurement precision of the instrument.(4) Measurement and control system designBased on the working principle and function of the instrument, corresponding measurement and control system is designed, including motor control module and the signal acquisition module. Based on Visual C++ platform developed comprehensive performance measurement software of the RV reducer, including parameter management module, measuring module, comprehensive performance analysis module and the user management module, which can realize acquisition, frequency spectrum analysis and filtering of the RV reducer comprehensive performance data, users can directly read performance measurement results of the RV reducer.
