| With the rapid development of modern society, the increasing aging population, the changes in family structure, and the weak urban neighborhood relations, the amount of empty nest and widowed old people gradually increased. Because of the limitations of traditional facilities and services, home-based care cannot meet the needs of modern old people. In the long run, agency-based care will eventually replace home-based care.According to related research, the elderly spend 70 percent of their time in room, so interior environment has a dual nature of matter and spirit. However, based on a wide range of research, the author finds many deficiencies in the design of interior space of urban nursing home environment. For example, there are still many irrational function space, dwelling space, logo design and design of indoor entertainment environment. Therefore, the author takes Fujian as a foothold, because its economy, climate, social outlook and overall level of pension institutions all have a universal nature, and thus the author starts analysis on optimum design of indoor space environment of urban nursing home.Firstly, this paper studies the status quo of China’s aging population and the development trend of aging population in Fujian Province to analyze the current development of pension model in China. Then, this paper studies the mature development experience from abroad, and thus discusses its research background, purpose, meaning, object, etc.Secondly, the author makes definition about the concepts of elderly-related knowledge from a theoretical perspective. On the basis of theoretical knowledge, the author makes a field trip to learn the nursing homes and carries out interviews with the elderly and staff. Through the first extensive survey, the author gets an overall idea of the indoor space environment of the nursing homes in Fujian province. The author chooses other areas in China to make comparative analysis, and then selects three representative areas and cases to make depth analysis, after which the problems and deficiencies of indoor space environment of the current nursing homes are found.Thirdly, to solve these problems and deficiencies, this paper uses theories like hierarchy needs theory, the theory of ergonomics, the elderly physiology, architecture, color science to make optimum proposals in interior space division of nursing home, function layout, transportation corridors, living dwelling, barrier-free design consideringthe orderly’s vision, hearing and touching, logo design, interior physical environment design and indoor recreation space design. Finally, after carrying out the comprehensive investigation and the corresponding proposed measures, the author makes a summary of the article. In order to design a more comfortable and enjoying indoor space environment, it is necessary to fully understand the physiology, psychology and behavioral characteristics of the elderly, and use scientific field survey methods, interviews, ergonomics and color science theory. |
