Daylighting as the major part of lighting method for classrooms, is important to improve the interior natural light environment, and it also make a contribution to building energy saving and environmental protection. Ask for the users, the natural light occupies an important position that can not only improve indoor comfort but also make a great impact on the teachers’ and students’ learning and motivation, compared with the artificial lighting. At present, there is no specific natural lighting design for various reasons in most of education building design, which affects the indoor comfort and increases the energy consumption of lighting. If making full use of natural light during the day for building indoor lighting, it can save a lot of lighting energy consumption. Under this background, the article aims to solve the problem of lighting in the most common classroom. Therefore, the research is on the side-lighting systems of elementary and secondary school classrooms in Guangzhou area.In this paper discussed the importance of the natural lighting in teaching building and its basic knowledge. Through the analysis of field survey and investigation interview results, the paper puts forward the related problems in current primary and middle schools in Guangzhou area about the lighting environment in the classroom. In order to solve these problems, the paper summarize and expounds the design the principle of building the indoor natural lighting and excellent cases through the literature reading and data collection. Finally, the article put the side-lighting systems of elementary and secondary school classrooms as the key point, according to the climate characteristics of Guangzhou area, with the help of software simulation, it compared and comprehensive analyzed the daylighting strategy, including orientation, building height of building lighting, veranda window width, high coefficient and the reflecting plate and the ceiling lighting design. Thus it can provides the feasible design reference for daylighting design in the primary and secondary schools classroomThis thesis mainly work and achievements are as follows:1、Grasp the present situation of middle and primary school classroom light environment in Guangzhou area through on-the-spot investigation, then summarizes its existing daylighting problem.2、Collect and introduce excellent natural lighting design cases of foreign middle and primary school building from the Angle of daylighting classification research, in order to providing certain reference value for domestic classroom daylighting design.3、Do the side-lighting systems design of elementary and secondary school classrooms in Guangzhou Area, and proposes effective optimization strategy of improving daylighting environment in the primary and secondary school classroom by means of software simulation and analysis.
