The Study On The Cultural Memory Of Arcade In Guangzhou Based On Geographical Imagination

In the present,the construction of local culture has been unprecedented attention.Each city has its own memories. As one representation of Guangzhou urban culture,during one century,arcade has left us deep memory.In urban memory theory, the subject( memory group) and object( material of memory) interacting in time constitute the memories of the city.However, subject, object and time are constantly changing. Urban Landscape memory loss become normal, how to preserve memory as a matter of fact?On the basis of reviewing the contents and progress of the memory theory, this paper points out the deficiency of the research on physical space and emotion, and then introduces the research methods of geographical imagination in human geography. The memory elements and local emotion are the main directions of the research, using a combination of cross subject analysis, qualitative analysis, analysis of the text, discourse analysis, comparative study and other research methods, analysis of the role of memory on the local culture, by trying to build arcade memory and city culture.In the empirical analysis, chapter four sorts out historical images, physical space, picking up memory elements of visual, functional and social levels; the fifth chapter analysis the current identity of memory of the group memory content, media language emotion, private conservation imagine three aspects, and summarizes the characteristics of the construction of the arcade memory, emotional development and deepening of the role, multi value view of the importance of cultural evolution. On the basis of the first two chapters comparative study. Chapter six summarizes the significance of memory imagination on the construction of the local culture, including memory performance, remodel the culture, space inspired the specific role of the three aspects.The results show that the arcade memory has a wide range of identity on the basis, the social public opinion and conservation behavior of urban culture remodeling has a positive role. In the process of the urban construction and expression of the value of the arcade is single, from the transformation of space and function expansion, transfer of property rights and diversify; community type arcade in space requirements, to adapt to the society, block infection has strong vitality, it is worth moderate promotion; in addition, appropriate to guide the construction of benign interaction mechanism of pluralistic discourse, planning principle, to accelerate the current cultural identity have certain enlightening significance.
