As the CRD(Central Retail District) of Hohhot City, Zhongshan Road Business District have existing environment problems, such as strong breeze, dust, smog and sharp variation of thermal environment, which influence badly on its vitality. The analysis and optimize research aiming at wind environment of Zhongshan Road Business District means a lot to improve environment quality and construct the sustainable developing commercial region.this dissertation use CFD to simulate the status quo of the wind environment in this district.On the foundation of achievements before, evaluate its wind environment quality with the standard of wind comfort degree, thermal comfort degree and air pollution irradiation ability. Eventually, we can feedback the optimizing strategy for Business District space layout through the optimization of wind environment.First, comprehend the application of STAR-CCM+, which is a data simulation software. Put forward the FVM(Finite Volume Method), cutting mesh, separation solver and K-Epsilon turbulence model as the condition of this simulation through analyze the otherness in practical application under the different variables condition.Following,sort out the related achievements basing on the green architecture evaluating standard, and then raise a wind environment synthetical evaluating system in the core of atmospheric particulates irradiation ability, thermal comfort variation and wind comfort degree.Next, look up for the related meteorological data and document, then carry on a field research. From these, we can summarizing that Hohhot characterizes the following climatope trait: seriously polluted in spring and winter, wind overspeed in spring, bitter cold in winter, scorching heat in summer. By researching the space layout status quo of Zhongshan Road Business District, summarize the space layout feature of Zhongshan West Road, Buir Road, South alley of Buir Road and Business Street as well as Hailing Plaza.Then, simulate the wind environment of representative large scale regions of Zhongshan Road Business District in four seasons’ different prevailing wind direction and incoming flow speed, and come up with the distribution and variation status of wind speed and wind direction, then evaluate them. Basing on these work, make some suggestions like adopting more set-back buildings, reduce the irregular plane.At last, simulate the small scale factors respectively, and come to a conclusion that changing the corner and entrance shape, adjust the height of advertising board can improve the wind environment quality of small scale regions effectively.
