Study On The Small Steel Architecture Space Mechanism And Constructive Method

With advances in material and technology, steel has been applied in architecture since the early 19th century, and it has a profound influence on architecture.With the development of society and changes of sense of worth and aesthetic taste, steel architecture are posed with multi-style, while space and construction as two main lines remains unchanged.Currently, the iron and steel industry is suffering from over capacity, so it will be benefit for reducing steel and iron storage and digesting capacity by developing the number of steel architecture and improving usage of steel materials in architecture industry. Compared with traditional brick-concrete structure buildings and concrete structure buildings, steel structure buildings get more prominent advantages, including light self-weight, small section of bearing structure, standardization, and economic benefits. The application of steel architecture is promising, and it will be an important direction for architectural development in the future. At present, among domestic steel-structure buildings, small architecture is lack of in-depth design and disordered weakening charm from steel architecture itself.In this paper, the small steel architecture as the research object, such as residential, small shops, as well as some small industrial buildings belong to the scope of this paper. Through consolidating and mining domestic and foreign relevant theoretical knowledge and steel works, exploring the relationship between the material and the form of logic, researching influences of architectural creation due to materials and technical factors, the basic principles of space design and construction through green practices would be summarized.Research is done through material and shape, structure system and spatial mechanism, spatial construction and design methods, and construction of green technology. Firstly, the material properties of the steel get researched, literature review get illuminated, material characteristics of small-scale steel construction get refined, the common construction methods get categorized and the historical context of steel buildings gets combed. Secondly, the common small steel building structure system should be classified structural principle should be explored, structure and space should be associated, and space mechanism should be summarized from space defining, scheduling, and morphological characteristics. Finally, with green technology used in small steel architecture, roof and walls of the building’s envelope materials and construction methods are summarized, the design and operation of solar steel architecture get proposed and steel architecture’s life cycle get interpreted.Through practical case studies and literature review, on the one hand, small steel architecture spatial composition and combinations were categorized, and its mechanism design methods formed; On the other hand, the structure, envelope and the connection is in-depth interpretation, and construction technique presents several shape from logic of construction, detail and connection shapping. Mechanism of space research, design methods and green technology are provided for small steel architecture design.
