Hybrid power gas engine heat pump (HPGHP) combines hybrid-power technology with gas engine heat pump. It is a type of air conditioning equipment to provide building with cooling, heating, and heat water. This paper focuses on economy analysis and lifecycle carbon emission of the HPGHP system. The main contents are as follows:(1)By dividing HPGHP system into three subsystems:driving system, heat pump system and waste heat recovery system, and analyzing the dynamic and thermodynamic coupling relations between the three systems, simulation platform of HPGHP system is established based on the Simulink. Get the simulation data of heat pump system operating characteristics, gas consumption, driving system torque distribution and so on; compare it with the corresponding experimental data to verify the validity of the simulation platform. Fuel consumption rate, fuel consumption and fuel conversion rate are taken as indexes to compare with GHP and analyze operation economy of HPGHP system.(2)Building load model of a typical office is built based on DEST software to analyze the cooling and heating load and the distribution of air conditioning system running time. Combining the HPGHP simulation platform, this paper puts forward the refrigeration season primary energy ratio(PERc) and heating season primary energy ratio (PERh) as the evaluation indexes to analyze operation economy of HPGHP, ordinary gas engine heat pump (GHP) and electric heat pump (EHP) in three cities of Beijing, Nanjing, Xi’an. The annual operating costs of three heat pumps are calculated based on current electricity and natural gas prices in three cities. The HPGHP system shows noticeable operating economy comparing with GHP and EHP.(3)This paper establishes the calculation model of HPGHP lifecycle, and calculates equivalent CO2 emissions of the production and installation, transportation and operation phases. The advantage in terms of carbon reduction is evaluated by comparing with GHP and EHP. Based on lifecycle assessment software Simpro, HPGHP system lifecycle environmental impact is assessed with adopting the method of ECO-Indicator 99. Various types of environmental impact are divided into three classes of environmental impact index, human health, ecological quality and resource consumption. The whole life cycle environmental impact evaluation index of HPGHP is 5678.231 Pt, the production of installation stage and operation stage are the main sources, use of natural gas contributes 92.9% of the total environmental impact.
