A Study Of The Technique System Of Traditional Masony—Timber Buildings

Compared with other architectural form from the same period.traditional Masonry-Timber buildings of our country is incomparable in terms of existing number and historical influence. It is a feature of Chinese traditional architectural culture and has important cultural value, use value along with research value. Once as a perfect system in history, traditional Masonry-Timber building had kept the internal system of harmony, and had been well coordinated with the external environment. It used to meet the needs of the people for a long period and has produced many excellent works, which had participated as the main body in forming the splendid traditional architectural culture in our country. There is no absolute right and wrong in the system of traditional Masonry-Timber building,however, we have to examine the characteristics of the system and has the responsibility to reflect on it as traditional Masonry-Timber building is close to dying in today.Taking Zhou Tie old street as an example, this paper analyzes the traditional Masonry-Timber dwelling buildings from the aspects of site layout, characteristics, functions and types, structure and plane structure, materials and equipment and other factors of its technique system, trying to present the current problems of its technique system and shows the value and necessity of its renovation.The first chapter is introduction, introducing the background, research status, overall framework and research method of this paper, making clear about the research methods and the significance of traditional Masonry-Timber buildings.The second chapter elaborates the development and status of traditional Masonry-Timber buildings of Zhou Tie, including the general situation of the development background along with the current situation of protection and utilization, reflecting the present conflict between the demands of the residents and the imperfect function of traditional Masonry-Timber buildings. And then, get the feelings of native residents towards the traditional Masonry-Timber buildings and its thermal performance through the questionnaire survey.The third chapter analysis the technique system of Zhou Tie traditional Masonry-Timber buildings, namely the function layout, construction logic, structure, material selection, equipment and so on. Sums up the characteristics of Zhou Tie traditional Masonry-Timber buildings.The fourth chapter describes the field measurement and data analysis of three typical cases of traditional Masonry-Timber buildings in Zhou Tie, Reflects the thermal performance and the living environment of these houses, reveals the defects of traditional Masonry-Timber buildings and lead to the rethink of its technique system.The fifth chapter is a combination of field investigation, questionnaire and field testing results.
