The flat plasma ultraviolet light source with Ne-Xe gas mixture possesses many merits including mercury free, fast response, good uniformity and so on. The UV light source is widely used in various domains, such as environment, energy, process, lighting, medical treatment. Especially in the field of biomedical, it has a broad prospect to treat skin disease, synthesis vitamin D and enhance human immunity.This paper consists of theoretical simulation, preparation and driving circuit of the flat plasma ultraviolet light source.This paper analyzes the process of UV light discharge deeply, combined with the principle of plasma discharge and characteristics of luminescence. The influence of electrode gap and the xenon content on discharge characteristics is simulated by PIC-MCC method. The results show that the long electrode gap of UV light can improve the performance of discharge. Based on the theoretical analysis to design the electrode structure and optimize the structure parameters. The preparation for the flat plasma UV light is investigated and the technical scheme is proposed for sealing between quartz glass and soda-lime glass. And flexible plate UV light is explored and tested lighting.The driving method of plasma UV light and preparation of driving circuit are study in this paper. According to existing plat plasma visible lights, it is adopted that the technology of insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) and the gate driving to control the state of high-voltage switches in the driving circuit. The range of the voltage amplitude can reaches from OV to 1500V and the frequency can be adjusted from OKHz to 50KHzThe matching circuit can be also used to lighten the plasma flat visible light and maintain a state of continuous uniform light, which fits the need of driving flat plasma UV light.
