Since the 21 st century, cultural consumption has become a new point of growth in China’s economy and has kept rising. As an important aspect in cultural consumption, cultural creative products have been affecting people’s daily life on every side. People’s life have been getting better because cultural creative products have improved the quality of people’s life, increased people’s cultural taste and delivered positive life attitude.The author analyzed the current development of cultural creative products and management in design projects, summarized the creativeness and marketability of cultural creative products, pointed out the problems such as ambiguous connotation, low quality and being difficult to actualize in the development of cultural creative products. In order to solve those problems, the author introduced management in design projects, an effective and systematic management approach. By researching this management method, the author found out management is design projects propelled the development of cultural creative products, and was helpful in boosting a powerful design team, setting correct design goals, effectively controlling and adjusting the procedures in design projects and increasing work efficiency. Therefore, the cultural creative products could be turned into merchandise and realize its commercial value.As an important application part in design management system, design project management focuses on program management in design execution. In consideration of the complexity and diversity of the design projects of cultural creative products, management in design projects should be precise, systematic, well-organized and operable. Management approaches such as leading, planning, organizing, supervising and controlling should be used to allocate and integrate the design resources so as to improve the development of cultural creative products and realize their economical and social value.At the end of the theoretical analysis, the author applied the theories into her own design work called “Sozy life”(cozy life in Suzhou). In previous team building, resource collection, goal setting and the implementation, and the final design evaluation, the author introduced design projects management to standardize the design process, monitor the design details and completed the work. “Sozy life” has achieved a good result in the competition and if the negotiation with a local company is successful “Sozy life” is in prospect to be transformed into merchandise to realize its commercial value as a cultural creative product.
