With the increasingly serious environmental pollution, many countries have noted the great potential of green energy used in the field of ship and started to research. Using solar energy technology in the field of USV have not been seen at home and abroad. Intelligent control system used in the USV has bing in development stage, traditional control technology can just handle simple tasks, not able to meet complex needs. And its compatibility is poor, can not meet the development needs of the sensor. In resent years, many intelligent products based on embedded control system have been used, and the technology made a great prospect, so, this paper provides a complete set embedded intelligent control system for the USV, include: CUP selected, sensor development, intelligent algorithm and communication protocol formulate etc. Supplemented with model test in this paper, repeatedly test the two sets of intelligent control system, and developed several useful features in order to comprehensive testing. The main research work and analysis is as follows:(1) Completed a set of 150 W solar power system, and ensure the system can meet different power output needs; completed a set of independent sailing propuision system and it’s control system;(2) Adapted and completed a set of optimization program, which take into account of catamaram powered by solar energy; and optimized several parameters regard as key parameters, at last got the several parameters have different impact on the overall performance of solar catamaran;(3) Independent designed and made the catamaran model, and a lot of confirmatory tests had been carried out, can draw the conclusion that: the modle’s performance is very fit to sail; at the same time demand for the development of USV, we developed a universal comprehensive performance verification test program to provide more professional and reliable solution for the USV test;(4) Developed a set of intelligent control system based on 51 microcontroller, the system’s reliability is verified in the test. Successful completed a unmanned fireboat, a photoelectric guidelines USV, and other functions;(5) Developed a set of intelligent control system based on STM32 microcontroller, the system using in the USV in this article, and the above-mentioned two USV and a type unmanned ground vehicles; fuzzy control algorithm used in them; at the same time more than 30 kinds of sensors developed to ensure the great function of USV;(6) Networking communications systems was introduced in the USV communications technology; according to the knowledge of their own experiences and other industries developed a broad USV communication protocol, the communcation protocol is easy expanded in order to used in other USVs and cooperative operation strategy.
