The performance of the electric folding device of the automotive exterior mirrors not only affects the safety of the automobile, but also affects the consumption and reliability of the electric energy. Aiming at the problem of poor dynamic performance and high energy consumption of the electric folding device of the vehicle exterior mirror,the design principle and method of the electric folding device of the vehicle outer rear mirror are studied aiming at reducing the driving torque and reducing the energy consumption. The purpose of the study is to reduce the working resistance of the car’s electric outer rear mirrors and to improve the dynamic characteristics of the outer rear view mirror and to reduce the energy consumption.Firstly, the research status of the drive structure and control system of the rear view mirror is reviewed. The drive and control principle of the vehicle is studied.Then,the CATIA software is used to model the vehicle electric folding exterior mirrors. On the basis of the above, the optimum design method of the structure parameters of the electric folding device of the vehicle exterior mirror is proposed based on the minimum working resistance. Then,the kinematics and dynamics simulation analysis is carried out by using ADAMS. Then,the control principle of the electric folding device of the rear view mirror is studied,and the electric folding control system is designed.And as a guide,the use of ADAMS and MATLAB software on the car outside the rear mirror electric folding machine PID control joint simulation. Finally, the experimental platform of the control system of the electric folding device of the rear mirror of the feasibility experiment and analysis are carried out.
