As a kind of special mechanical and electrical equipment, elevator has become an indispensable tool in peoples daily life with its fast and convenient features. During the actual operation, the traction passenger elevator wounding accidents have occurred, causing widespread concern in the community. In the Guangdong elevator safety regulations, which has been implemented from October 2015, the necessity and urgency of the elevator risk assessment has been clearly proposed. Therefore, it is important to develop the risk assessment of traction type passenger elevator. Through a series of tests and theoretical research, which are done from personal injury incident angle to assess the overall risk of the elevator, the paper provides a new idea and method for safety assessment of the elevator, with high engineering value.Firstly, through the 702 type passenger elevators detection, risk factors about the elevator are identified from the eight functional systems and the three hazardous areas, including 16 aspects. In this paper, a comprehensive analysis of the 131 small items affecting the elevator safety risk factors is formed, to determine the systematic risk factors. This paper set them as the test items for risk assessment, and confirms the content and requirements of the assessment.Secondly, starting from the personnel injury incident, this paper studies the association about the elevator accident and the dangerous state of the elevator, which corresponds with the above 131 risks items. Duing to the analysis of systematic risk factors system for traction passenger elevator, scientific and effective security assessment method was selected. Using the comprehensive safety assessment method to calculate the risk status of the elevator, the probability of the occurrence probability and consequence severity of the risk injury were analyzed, and the risk assessment model for the traction passenger elevator, based on the failure mode effects analysis and the fault tree analysis was constructed.Thirdly, in order to improve the efficiency of the risk assessment, this paper compiles the software, with the C Sharp language, according to the risk assessment model for the traction passenger elevator. The software can realize the results display and information storage function, including the basic information input, system risk factors identification, risk assessment results calculation and risk grade classification.Finally, in this paper, the elevator in Liwan Area has been selected as the specific examples to illustrate the implementation process of risk assessment models elevator. The case study is carried out based on the systematic risk assessment model. The results show that: both the risk assessment model and the software for the traction passenger elevator are of strong operability, in line with the actual needs of engineering application.
