In recent years, the regional architecture creation has gradually become one of the performance of globalization. And in the other side, the regional architecture creation is also one of the important ways against cultural convergence by globalization. Shaanxi guanzhong region has a long history. And guanzhong traditional dwellings has a profound culture and characteristic. Guanzhong traditional dwellings has a simple sedate but luxuriant appearance characteristic. And the narrow long courtyards, shed roof and thick wall are the well-known and unique characteristics of guanzhong traditional dwellings. The unique characteristics and culture of guanzhong traditional dwellings have become an important inspiration for regional architecture creating in xi ’an. The Xi’an contemporary architecture creation of vernacular dwelling discussed in this paper refers to the modern architectural creation which studies guanzhong traditional dwellings at the urban texture, architectural features, folk customs and the Chinese nation characteristic genes and so on.Based on the City background and era background of xi ’an contemporary regional architecture creation, this paper analyzes the relation between the Xi’an contemporary architecture creation of vernacular dwelling and the guanzhong village layout, guanzhong dwellings, guanzhong folk culture, and Chinese traditional philosophy. The designing method conclusion of Xi’an contemporary architecture creation of vernacular dwelling style also has reference values in design process.
