In recent years, with the acceleration of urbanization process, the high-intensity, high-density land development patterns of big cities must generate a lot of traffic demand, the phenomenon of the unbalanced regional development and reasonable layout of urban functions cause a problem that the existing transportation infrastructure can’t meet the increasing traffic demand. Face to the challenge of urbanization and motorization, people begin to realize that the traffic problem becomes the key factor that restricts the development of the city. Only large-scale expansion of transport infrastructure has been unable to resolve the existing problems due to some traffic congestion, we must plan the land reasonably, and improve the flow of the accessibility of urban transport, reducing their travel costs. The paper is based on the fact of Chinese urban high-density development, it discusses the importance of urban transport system and land use coordination issues. Firstly, it describes the interaction mechanism between la nd use and urban transport, and establishes an evaluation index system based on the TOD mode, and establish a DEA model in which the indicators that is related with land use are input elements and the indicators that is related with urban transport system are output elements, and explores the model solution that uses LINGO software. Then establish a DEA model which takes 11 cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Tianjin, Xi’an, Chengdu, Harbin, Dalian and Zhengzhou. Then we obtain the comprehensive coordination of the urban transport system and land use, pure technical efficiency of the urban transport systems and scale efficiency of land use. Then analysis the land and transportation scale remuneration, then adjust the input and output elements according to the desires of the slack variables, to ensure that the land use and urban transport system in the best state coordination. Finally, put forward some recommendations to improve the land use and urban transportation system coordination based on the fact.
