Study On Intersection Safety Evaluation Of City Road Based On TCT

As connecting node of city roads, city intersection is an important part of the road net. All kinds of traffic flows are separated at the intersection, if it has not been coordinated well, there are more likely to occur traffic accidents. In order to improve traffic safety of the intersection, to find the potential cause of traffic accidents at intersection, firstly, influence factors of the intersection traffic safety should be discussed. People always make use of the traffic accidents which have happened to analysis the influence factor for a long time, but the fortuity and the scarcity of the traffic lead to the hysteresis of analysis consequence. In the view of the similarity between traffic conflict and traffic accident, so the traffic conflict can be described as “quasi accidents”. Instead of traffic accident, the paper use the traffic conflict technique to analysis the influence factors.At the basis of concluded the application results of traffic conflict technique, the paper used the traffic conflict dates which were attained through field researches and combined with the method of statistical analysis to compared all kinds of dates, and then draw the conclusions. The main contents of paper as blow:1. The feasibility and effectiveness of using the traffic conflict technique to analyzed the influence factors would be demonstrated. And through the conclusion of traffic conflict theory obtained the distinguish criterion of serious conflict.2. The paper formulated the concrete research plan and research table of traffic conflict, and made a statistic analysis of the date which contained 478 samples come from 15 intersection of Xi’an.3. The character of traffic flows which related with various kinds of intersection would be analyzed, and then further studied the generation mechanism of different types of traffic conflict, and finally divided the traffic conflict of intersection into 5 types.4. Using the attained data of traffic conflict to analyzed the influenced factors of traffic conflict. The paper mainly used the principal component analysis to researched the causes which produced the traffic conflict, and then acquired the main factors of which influenced the traffic safety of intersection, at the basis of this, according to the vehicle speed, the mode of signal light setting and signal phase, the traffic offence behavior, the conflict data are classified to made a analysis of variance, and then acquired the significant influence factors.5. Using the method of fuzzy C-means to assess the safety ranking of the 15 intersections, and then concluded the corresponding level, meanwhile, it is necessary to provide effective improvement measures for the influence factors which come from the data analysis, and come up with the rationalized advices for the improvement of intersection traffic safety.
