Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) is light but strong, durable, fatigue resistant and designable and it is also insulated, adiabatic. Furthermore, it presents electromagnetic wave penetrating property. The application of CFRP meets the requirement of green, energy saving and environmental protection promoted by the national twelfth-five plan goal.Cable dome structure is a kind of tensegrity structure with reasonable strength and high efficiency.With the application of CFRP cables, the mechanical properties of the cable dome structure will be enhanced greatly, and larger span will be covered. On the basis of a 120m span cable dome, a Geiger type CFRP cable dome with similar stiffness is designed, combined with the characteristics of CFRP materials. For comparison, a Levy type cable dome is also designed. Dynamic characteristics and seismic performance of CFRP cable dome are studied systematically, and contrast with traditional steel cable dome is also carried out. Details are as follows:Based on the theory of structure dynamic analysis and the block lanczos method, Modal analysis of Geiger-steel, Geiger-CFRP and Levy-CFRP cable dome is conducted.The similarities and differences between Geiger-steel and Geiger-CFRP cable dome are compared, as well as Geiger-CFRP and Levy-CFRP cable dome. The influences of initial prestress level and bar section areas on the above three domes are also discussed.On the basis of modal analysis, spectrum analysis of the three domes is conducted with the consideration of the structural geometric stiffness. Under the effect of unidirectional and multidirectional seismic effect, the similarities and differences of Dynamic displacements and dynamic internal forces between Geiger-steel and Geiger-CFRP cable dome are compared, as well as Levy-CFRP and Geiger-CFRP cable dome.With prestress effect, geometric nonlinearity, and material properties considered simultaneously, time history analysis of Geiger-steel, Geiger-CFRP and Levy-CFRP cable dome under frequent earthquake effect is conducted. First of all, three seismic waves are selected and modified according to the seismic code. Then dynamic response under unidirectional and uniform excitation of multidirectional seismic effect is analyzed, and compared with the results of spectrum analysis. Finally, dynamic response under unidirectional and multi-support excitation of multidirectional seismic effect is analyzed, and compared with the results of uniform excitation of seismic effect.At the end of the thesis, some conclusions are summarized and the problems that should be further studied are bring forward.
