Transportation networks play a important role in urban development with large data, which traditional manual processing of network data traffic can no longer deal with. With the rising of GIS, GIS-T becomes an important research topicAlthough it has some transportation softwares nowadays, most of them are not very suitable for Chinese domestic situation. At the same time, the softwares’data structures are not suitable for secondary development, adding new theories.The goal of this paper is to analyze the existing tranportation planning software,summarize the problems and then develop low dependency geographic information infrastructure components from the ground.First of all, the paper introduces some basic theoretical knowledge and related technologies about how to develop a GIS component. Then it focuses on some algorithms which are using to solve the existing shortage of several transportation softwares, and strive to be more easily and effectively handle large transportation network data with a more beautiful visuslization display.In terms of the algorithms, this paper carries a lot of innovative algorithms. It designes variable-length data structure to store transport networks data which update quickly. According to the characteristics of the networks, parallel line algorithm has been improved to removing burrs. This paper designes some natures like blocked traffic to show the characteristics of transport networks. Then trying to semi-automatic vectorization and 3D can deal with data faster and more convenient, with a better and more beautiful showing in the computer.The paper designed a self-application of the principles, and to determine the needs of research and development system and applications on this basis. According to requirements analysis,paper designs of each componet needs, type functions,data structures,connectors of components,then uses VC6.0 to develop and package components from the bottom.Be based on the design of this component,to build a test program used in traffic analysis.And the test the program used of actual transportation network data to draw reliable conclusions. To test the performance of component, this paper makes a comparison with existing softwares and these components. From the above, proves the components developed with good usability.
