In recent years, with the rapid development of China’s economy, China’s motor vehicle holdings are increasing year by year, and a large number of vehicles cause traffic congestion and frequent traffic accidents during running on the road. How to quickly clean up the scene of the accident, to ensure the smooth flow of road traffic is becoming more and more urgent. As a new kind of special vehicle equipped with the emergency rescue device for the roads, the wrecker can tow defective vehicles and accident vehicles away in time, its status is becoming more and more important, the demand is also increasing.At present, the domestic wrecker design has great limitation and it mostly depends on traditional analytical method and design experience, which leads to the poor vehicle performance, high cost, lack of market competitiveness. Therefore, the finite element analysis and optimization research of the wrecker vehicle structure, the improvement of the working performance and the cost reduction is becoming more and more important.Firstly, this paper introduces the present development situation and the trend of the future development of the domestic and foreign wrecker, makes a brief description of the main structure form of wrecker, and describes the important guiding significance of the use of finite element analysis method to mechanical product design.Then, using the APDL language of ANSYS software to establish parameterized finite element model of each component of the wrecker vehicle, and after assembly, constraints and loading, the finite element analysis of vehicle wrecker based on the typical operating conditions is completed. For wrecker’s three important components-- a subframe, a turntable and a lifting arm, the paper completes structure optimization to meet the design requirements, and the analysis results are compared before and after the optimization.It also carries out market Research and induction of similar products, analyzes the causes of the problem of the original frame structure, and several main factors which affect the rigidity of the subframe are studied. In addition, the finite element analysis software for the parametric finite element analysis is developed.Finally, combined with the theoretical calculation and finite element analysis method, the wrecker which is studied in this paper of anti overturning stability properties are verified. After the stress test of the wrecker products, the test results and the finite element analysis results are compared, which shows the accuracy of the finite element analysis results.For finite element analysis of similar wrecker vehicle in the future, the paper provides an important reference, and has important practical significance.
