With the steady development of national economy and the growth of GDP, the level ofpeople’s life has been greatly improved, which leads to another result that the car populationshows a high growth rate as well. On one hand, the traditional pavement materials are unableto meet the requirements of the high traffic volume; on the other hand, the accumulation ofwaste tires, noise pollution and road diseases caused by excessive traffic have become strikingsocial and environmental problems.Adding rubber particles made from waste tires into asphalt mixture can not only solvethe environmental issues by consuming large amounts of waste tires, but also enhance theperformance of road’s pavement in the resistance of low-temperature cracking and noisereduction. So, the use of scrap tires has been widely promoted in highway. However, there areseveral problems, such as the spalling of granulated crumb rubber, poor performance in theresistance of water damage and low temperature crack. In order to solve the problems, thepaper tries to add waste tire crumb into the asphalt mixture by the wet-and-dry compoundingmethod. Research of the paper includes following aspects:Firstly, the paper studies the process of full-cracking rubber asphalt by researching itstechnological indicators and pavement performance, which is influenced by the reactiontemperature and time of rubber asphalt, the dosage of cleavage agent.Secondly, the paper studies the mode of adding rubber particles into rubber asphaltmixture as well as the dosage of rubber particles by testing the performance of the mixture.Thirdly, the paper has studied the durability of wet-and-dry rubber asphalt mixture bytesting the hydraulic stability, low-temperature cracking resistance, fatigue performance offour mixtures.Fourth, the paper has studied the economic effects, social benefits and environmentalbenefits of the wet-and-dry rubber asphalt pavement by the method of macro-economicanalysis.
