With the rapid development of modern transportation and the improvement of people’s living standards, the demand for travel increases. At the same time, the road continues to be polished and the performance of anti-sliding fell sharply, which result in the traffic accident frequently. So, pavement anti-sliding issues become the focus of attention of researches. At present, researchers focused on the polish ability of coarse aggregate and grading design, thus the influence of fine aggregate was ignored. However, the content of fine aggregate in the mixture up to 40% to 50%, it’s necessary to study the impact of fine aggregate to the performance of anti-sliding(especialy the long-term anti-sliding), which can provide a reference for improve of anti-sliding.Firstly, the geometric features of fine aggregates were researched. This paper chose eight kinds of aggregate, one ceramic and one kind of natural sand as research objects, tested their angularity by using flow time and uncompact void content methods. Based on digital image processing techniques, the geometric features were collected. Those indexes were inputted into One-Way ANOVA and indexes were selected. At the same time, the correlation analysis of all indexes was taken.Secondly, the polishing test method of the fine aggregate was researched. Based on the grinding wheel acceleration test machine, different adhesive content, different tire pressure and different polishing rate of fine aggregates’ specimens were tested. And the fine aggregate polishing method was determined. Ten kinds of fine aggregates were tested, and the evaluating indexes were extracted. At the same time, the polishing performances of coarse aggregates were tested and analysed with the fine aggregate.Thirdly, anti-sliding of mixtures with different fine aggregates was tested. Specimens made of same granular compositions and different fine aggregates were prepared. Then, they were polished by grinding wheel acceleration test machine. At the same time, the change of British Pendulum Number were measured and used for getting the polishing performance index through curve fitting. The influence of fine aggregate on the anti sliding performance of asphalt mixture was analyzed.Finally, high temperature rutting tests and freeze-thaw split tests were carried out.In this paper, a series of work in the study of the appearance and morphology of fine aggregates, the polishing performance test and the performance of asphalt mixture with different fine aggregate were carried out. The influence of fine aggregate on the anti-sliding of asphalt mixture is determined, which provides a reference for the selection of fine aggregate.
