In order to control overload and overrun, the Ministry of Transport promulgated several relevant measures for the administration. Toll-by-weight is one of the effective measures.However, it caused the highway traffic bottlenecks as well. Major highway weight toll congestion is very serious during booming economic development. The system of Electronic Weight Toll Collection(EWTC) research can effectively improve the traffic efficiency of toll stations. In this paper, the lane control system of EWTC is designed and researched based on EWTC system.Though the analysis of the key issues and the functional requirements of the lane control system of EWTC and full consideration of the vehicle length and speed and the effects of the dynamic weight equipment on vehicle walking and lane control, the overall and logical design is conducted of the lane control system. In order to facilitate the management of the system and the analysis of the logic, the system is divided into three states of the normal working state, manual handling state and the system maintenance state. Under these three states, the detailed analysis and design of the vehicle identification logic, car-following proof interference logic, vehicle weight calculation logic and peripheral equipment control logic are conducted and according to logic design, overall layout and logical analysis of lane detection coil are conducted. According to logic design requirements, detailed process of systematic is designed.This paper uses VISSIM microcosmic traffic simulation tools to establish the EWTC lane simulation model, which verifies lane control logic and analyzes the lane capacity.According to the results of verification and capacity analysis, the EWTC lane control system design scheme proves feasible, which realizes the continuous and effective traffic of many cars with high engineering practical value. At a limited speed, EWTC lane capacity is10.4 times the MTC lane.
