Currently, there are many researches on working performance, and most researches are based on the assumption of linear correlation studies, but psychological phenomena are not necessarily a linear relationship, it could be a complex nonlinear relationship. In the study of nonlinear systems, chaos theory is the research focus. Chaos theory comes from studies of meteorological science, but as scientists continue to study and exploration, it has been developed into a science about the universal law of nature; it has changed the way on how human think. Chaos theory is about the random phenomena of deterministic system, and considers the essence of human psychology as nonlinear. By this idea, this article does studies on the impacting factors of team working performance for knowledge-based employees.By the review on literature&materials, we find that the positive emotions, achievement motivation and interpersonal communication of team members affect teams’ working performance. This study adopts the questionnaire method, and examines7sales teams of a training institution which is in a science and technology building of Haitian District, Beijing City. With the theory of Scotter and Motowidlo (1993) who compartmentalizes working performance into task and contextual performance, this study adopts a scale table, and screens out three groups (30people per group) with high performance, medium performance and low performance. Subjects were asked to fill the positive and negative emotions checklist (PANAS-X), achievement motivation scale (AMS) and supportive communication scale (SCS) through an online website, to measure the positive emotions, achievement motivation and interpersonal communication skills for the members of three teams within three months. The data was analyzed by MATLAB-a computer modeling software.By the analysis of data of the three teams, this study finds that:there is a complex nonlinear relationship between team members’ positive emotions, achievement motivation and interpersonal communication skills. In high-performance team, team members’ positive emotions, achievement motivation and interpersonal communication skills influenced each other, it shows a "butterfly shape" in phase space which attracts around two areas, neither repeated nor intertwined. It’s a chaotic dynamics attract; in the low-performance team, at the beginning, team members’ positive emotions, achievement motivation and interpersonal communication skills shows irregular periodic motion in the phase space, and eventually shrink as a fixed point; in the medium-performance team, team members’ positive emotions, achievement motivation and interpersonal communication skills show "butterfly shape" in the phase space at the beginning, and eventually evolved into a periodic motion. The summary of the research draws the following conclusions:1. The factors of team working performance:there is complicated nonlinear relationship between team members’ positive emotions, achievement motivation and interpersonal communication skills which can be characterized by a set of Lorenz equations of chaos theory.2. The positive emotions, achievement motivation and interpersonal communication skills of team members with high, medium and low working performance present nonlinear dynamic evolution in the phase space. That is, in high-performance team, the relationship between team members’ positive emotions, achievement motivation and interpersonal communication skills can be characterized by the Lorenz strange attractor; in low-performance team, the relationship between team members’ positive emotions, achievement motivation and interpersonal communication can be characterized by a point attractor; in medium-performance team, the relationship between positive team members’ positive emotions, achievement motivation and interpersonal communication can be characterized by a limit cycle attractor.Through these studies, we can help the teams with low performance iscollapsed into a fixed point and average performance limited to rigid limit cycle attractors to train and improve their emotional state, achievement motivation intensity and interpersonal communication skills, to help them becoming a high performance team with attracting to flourish chaotic dynamics.
