With economic development and sound legal system, dominant workplace violence like kicking is fewer, while emotional abuse becomes common. Abusive supervision is widespread in some industries, which has a profound impact on employees and organizations. With the abusive supervision intensified in enterprises, its impact on employee creativity can’t be ignored. From the perspective of employee creativity, this paper builds a motivational model to investigate the impact of abusive supervision. The thesis sets abusive supervision as the independent variable, employee creativity as the dependent variable, intrinsic motivation as the mediator, perception of supervisor’s motives as the moderator. The perception of supervisor’s motives is divided into two dimensions including promotion-enhancing motives and injury motives. The empirical study of204samples draws the following conclusions:Abusive supervision has a significantly negative impact on employee creativity. Intrinsic motivation fully mediates the relationship between abusive supervision and employee creativity. Performance-enhancing motives weaken the negative impact of abusive supervision on intrinsic motivation, as well as the indirect negative impact of abusive supervision on employee creativity. Injury motives strengthened the negative impact of abusive supervision on intrinsic motivation, as well as the indirect negative impact of abusive supervision on employee creativity.According to the conclusions, there are some implications:Preventive mechanisms should be improved by companies in management systems to control the source of abusive management. Managers are advised to improve their self-cultivation and leadership skills, as well as strengthen staff’s intrinsic motivation. Employees should cope with abusive supervision rationally to prevent spillover of negative factors out of workplace.
