In September and October2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping on a trip toKazakhstan, and the ASEAN countries, has proposed the constructionof "Silk Road Economic Belt" as well as "21st Century Maritime SilkRoad” cooperation initiatives, collectively known as the “One Belt andOne Road ", It has risen to the national development strategy of China.At present, China’s economy is in a critical period of transformation andupgrading, whereas the European Union is suffering from region’s debtcrisis which affected its economic recovery. Under thisbackground, China put forward the strategic planning and construction of“One Belt and One Road ", which has received a positive response from EUcountries, and provided a historic opportunity for China-EU trade andeconomic development.The dissertation below firstly through in-depth interpretation of " OneBelt and One Road " comprehensive strategic review and strategic planning,to explain the construction of" One Belt and One Road " has been combiningthe power of China-EU, the two major markets, the two civilizationstogether, and China-EU should start from the principle of safeguardingthe common interests of both sides, equality and mutual benefit, andachieving win-win, to be a partner for peace, leading to the path ofpeaceful development;to be a partner for growth, providing developmentopportunities;to be a partner for reform, learning from each other andsupporting each other;to be a partner for civilization, providing morenutrition for each other progress, providing new impetus to China-EUcooperation, and making greater contributions to the development andprosperity of the world。And secondly,the dissertation through in-depthresearch and analysis based on current situation of China-EU economic andtrade relations, characteristics and existing problems, to explore thechallenges and opportunities of " One Belt and One Road "strategy for China-EU trade and economic development. In summary, basedon the analysis, the dissertation proposes targeted policyrecommendations for the development of China-EU economic and traderelations under “One Belt and One Road “Strategy.
