Abstract/Summary:
With the rapid development of Africa-China economic and trade cooperation, an immense number of books talk about this issue. However, I found that it has a few books which are focused on African countries’ economic and trade cooperation with China. Based on this situation, I note that Kenya is one of the typical countries in Africa after my research. Kenya lies on the equator with the Indian Ocean to the south-east, Tanzania to the south, Uganda to the west, South Sudan to the north-west,Ethiopia to the north and Somalia to the north-east. It has the strategic location in East Africa. Besides, Kenya’s mineral resources are poor and the bilateral trade volume between Kenya-China has been on the rise in recent 20 years. To study Kenya-China economic and trade cooperation(shortened as KCEATC below) is very representative.By the study of the history and current situation of KCEATC, I summarized three main reasons and basic characteristics of KCEATC. And then by analyzing the status of KCEATC in Africa-China’s economic and trade cooperation, I discussed the engagement model between KCEATC. After the analysis of every aspect of KCEATC,I evaluated the KCEATC objectively and outlook the future trend of KCEATC.The first chapter of the paper deals mainly with the concept and connotation of globalization theory. In the meantime, the paper makes an analysis on Kenya-China cooperation in the globalization context and points to the importance and necessity of the strategy of China to Africa. Chapter two reviews the development process of bilateral relations and I dram a conclusion with the data to show that the rapid development between Kenya-China. And then the paper summarizes the main reasons for the fast development of the economic and trade cooperation between Kenya-China.The third chapter selects the case study as its study points and studies the infrastructure construction cooperation and telecommunications cooperation between Kenya-China respectively. The forth chapter summarizes the characteristics and influence of KCETAC. After that, the paper analyzes the current problems of KCETAC and then puts forward for the corresponding countermeasures. Besides, thepaper makes an objective estimate of KCETAC as well. At last, the dissertation summarizes the whole paper, and looks forward to the future of KCETAC.I hope that this paper can promote the deep development of KCEATC, and then expand in other areas of Kenya-China in the meantime. China, as an emerging economic power, its cooperation with African countries will strengthen the status of African countries in the world system and practice the friendly model between South-South cooperation. It also can contribute its efforts for the construction for the new world political and economic order.
