Global warming is the current human faces major challenges, it has become influence the world economic order, an important factor in the development of politics and the environment. At present, China’s carbon dioxide emissions are among the world’s first, is the world’s second-largest energy producer and consumer. Under pressure in the emission reduction in China, energy conservation and emissions reduction, development of low carbon economy is imperative. Understanding and research of the relationship between urbanization and carbon emissions, explore the countermeasures and methods about the harmonious development of urbanization and ecological environment, promote the healthy development of the urban ecological system, has become a very urgent task in front of us. In this paper, we study the influence of urbanization on carbon emissions, not just in one country as the goal, but depending on where you are in the different stages of development of urbanization,selecting typical three regions in our country were studied respectively, and then find out the similarities and differences, this paper compares and analyzes for energy conservation and emissions reduction in China, the development of low carbon economy to provide targeted advice and policy.This article main research content: the first, Shanghai, Shandong province and Gansu province is presented through the descriptive analysis of three typical areas in different development stage of urbanization, the urbanization development and the status quo of carbon emissions. Second, explore the Shanghai respectively, three areas in Shandong province and Gansu province urbanization and the relationship between carbon emissions. Select three regions in 2000-2012 new composite scores measure the level of urbanization, urbanization index to compile statistics of energy data and calculation formula for carbon emissions measure three region carbon emissions from2000 to 2012, using cointegration analysis and error correction model and granger causality test a variety of econometric analysis method, research of three typical areas respectively is what kind of relationship between urbanization and carbon emissions.Third, study respectively the three regional urbanization influence extent of eachfactor on carbon emissions. Select the representatives of new urbanization factor as the independent variable, carbon emissions targets as the dependent variable to build regression model are analyzed. Fourth, the comparative analysis of different stages of development of urbanization impact on carbon emissions. By comparing three areas urbanization representative factors influence on carbon emissions, analyze what factors influence degree in different area is big, what factors influence degree is small,which belongs to common factors, which factors are unique to the region, research the influence of different urbanization development level of carbon emissions are the same, if different performance in what way. According to the comparison of the results, the corresponding scientific and reasonable policies Suggestions are put forward.The empirical results show that the long term in Shanghai, the three areas in shandong province and gansu province urbanization and carbon emissions have long-term stable cointegration relationship; In the short run three areas the short-term changes of urbanization will cause carbon same direction change; From the causal relationship between Shanghai and the two regions in gansu province urbanization is a single cause of carbon emissions, and shandong province urbanization and carbon emissions is causal relationship; Per capita GDP, energy consumption and energy intensity and the three areas of carbon emission levels were significantly positive correlation; Engel’s coefficient and three areas are negatively related carbon emissions;Population ratio of urban population and the Shanghai negative correlation between carbon emissions and carbon emissions, gansu province, and the positive correlation between carbon emissions in shandong province and; Factors of industrial structure of the tertiary industry accounted with the Shanghai carbon emissions and carbon move in the opposite direction of the relationship, in gansu province and shandong province was positively related to carbon emissions level.
