The research of spatial and temporal changes and its process in land use enables better understanding of the course and mechanisms of changes in regional land use, so that we can adjust the human economic activities promptly, in order to achieve reasonable and sustainable utilization of land resources. From the perspective of landscape ecology, objected at Sihong County, Jiangsu Province, by fragstats3.3software and arcgis9.3software, this thesis analyzed the dynamic characteristics of the landscape level and the landscape type level on urban and rural construction land of the country level between2005and2010; by the introduction of the Detrended Canonical Correspondence Analysis (DCCA) model, the social economic driving factors in the near future of urban and rural construction land of the country level were quantitatively analyzed. The results are as follows:(1) Characteristics of the landscape pattern change of urban and rural construction land on the country level:landscape fragmentation of urban and rural construction land grows rapidly; landscape complication of urban and rural construction land accelerates fast; landscape dominance of urban and rural construction land drops slow; landscape aggregation tendency of urban and rural construction land decreases significantly.(2) Characteristics of the landscape type level change of urban and rural construction land on the country level:landscape fragmentation degree of urban and rural construction land gets bigger and bigger, of which the township have the greatest change; landscape shape of urban and rural construction land are more and more complicated, especially in rural residential land, scenic spots and special land. The fragmentation degree increase and shape complexity of urban and rural construction land are mainly due to human intervention of urban and rural construction land expansion.(3) The two-dimensional spatial distribution of the landscape pattern of urban and rural construction land and rural samples show that rural samples and landscape metrics in the same quadrant have significant correlation.(4) The sorting of DCCA and the landscape pattern changes has high degree of correspondence. The level of urbanization has greater impact on the total landscape area (TA), and the increase of the level of urbanization will lead to total landscape area (TA) becoming larger. The changes in the level of urbanization are negatively correlated with patch area mean (AREA_MN) and landscape cohesion index (COHESION). The per capita net income of farmers is second only to the level of urbanization socioeconomic factors. The increase of the gross regional product is negatively correlated to patch density (PD). The increase of the total population has the greatest impact on division index (DIVISION) changes and has positive correlation.
