Since the reform and opening up, the social and economic of the Pearl River Delta Region rapid development, In large part this have a significant impact on land use, In addition, the total land resources of the Pearl River Delta region less, per capita consumption more less,The contradiction between the people and the land is very prominent, Therefore, The research on sustainable land use problems of the Pearl River Delta region, It helps the overall sustainable development of the Pearl River Delta Region. In this paper, using the comprehensive evaluation model of the sustainable land use, Evaluation against sustainable land use situation of the Pearl River Delta Region, using correlation analysis and factor analysis, it analyzes driving mechanism of the Pearl River Delta land use sustainability, combined with the Pearl River Delta region, land use status and socio-economic conditions and the natural ecological environment proposed development model for sustainable land use of the Pearl River Delta. The main results are as following:Evaluate the sustainable land use situation of the Pearl River Delta and its9city from1985to2010, the result is that the Pearl River Delta land use showing a weak sustainability relative to the Guangdong Province, the main reason that led to the Pearl River Delta land use sustainability and the average in Guangdong Province differences is the contradiction between people and land, the allocation of land productivity, the pace of economic development, the stability of productivity and economic development benefits; the land use sustainability of its9city shows more significant differences, Shenzhen City is a strong sustainability, Dongguan, Huizhou, Zhongshan are weak sustainability, the rest five cities are not sustainability.The study of the land use sustainability’s driving force of the Pearl River Delta Selecting eight indicators from the four aspects of the resources and the environment, economic development, social development and population, makes correlation and factor analysis between each factor and the land use sustainability from1985to2010, the result is that land use sustainability of the Pearl River Delta not by a single or small number of factors, but by the resources and the environment, economic development, social development and population of various multiple factors together result.The study of model of the sustainable land use of the Pearl River Delta, that is make a analysis with the Pearl River Delta land use issues and development advantages the result is that in cities and towns should adopt integrated planning model in order to improve the efficiency of land use, and restrict cities expand outwards to prevent the occupation of cultivated land; plain agricultural areas use Industrial management mode in order to improve the efficiency of land productivity and protect arable land quality and quantity, the hills Taiwan Strip should adopt comprehensive development model and take full advantage of the characteristics of the foothills to develop characteristic agriculture; the coastal areas take resource development model, and develop offshore shallow water economy Without harming the environment.
