Analysis On The Impact Of Cloud Computing On IT High - Tech Enterprises

Nowadays, the Cloud Computing has become the mainstream of the revolution in information industry (referred to as IT industry). With the service of cloud computing, the access to computing resources, storage resources, development platforms and software applications has become much easier and the cost has decreased substantially.The paper has made a qualitative study on the representatives of the various types of IT industry companies, so as to find the influence of cloud computing on high-tech entrepreneurship and innovation.The paper firstly defines the object of the study, which is the high-tech enterprises in IT industry, and briefly discusses the definition and features of those enterprises. Then the paper makes a brief literature review on the existing study about the key factors that influence the growth of high-tech business.The paper then makes a brief introduction and analysis on the definition and related properties of cloud-computing. It also discusses the transformation on the business models the cloud computing has brought in.Furthermore, the paper applies the key success factors (KSF) analysis to explore whether cloud computing is a key factor for the success of high-tech companies. It makes case studies by taking samples on three leading enterprises, respectively Amazon (Service, innovation on traditional E-business) Salesforce (Software,innovation on traditional packaged software model), Dropbox (Services, cloud-based start-up companies) and five hardware leadership IT companies. In order to make up the shortcomings of the leading companies analysis in KSF and draw a comprehensive analysis on the key factors that influence IT companies, the paper also verifies its results by using Michael Porter’s Five Forces Model.Finally, the paper draws conclusions based on the analysis stated above, in hope that the findings could be helpful to the entrepreneurship and innovation in IT industry.
