The village economy, as the bottom of regional economy, which affects the life of overwhelming majority of people. Because each village has the different humanistic environment, land, labor and other resources. To form a multi-path of rural development, it is an urgent realistic problem for each village to choose the affordable industries, cultivate self-development ability, play a role in the urban and rural developmental integration, according to the characteristics of each village. For the village which has a profound cultural heritage and special cultural resources, it can take the road of interactive development between culture and economy. Choosing the industry which can show its cultural superiority characteristic as the leading industry can not only protect effectively cultural resources and the ecological environment in the village, but also can promote local economic development by culture resources in order to build the sustainabry developmental road of the village.Since China began to reform and open up to the outside world, the Tibet Autonomous Region has a rapid economic development with distinct features. The fact (called Tibetan characteristics) that output contribution of the tertiary industry in Tibet has been ranking first for a long-term proves that the economically developmental roads of Tibetan villages ought to be distinguished from other regions. This article chooses Tunda village as the subject investigated, which is the Tibetan historical and cultural village, to research the changing experience of the village’s economic development, because the village fits the theory of comparative advantage. Tunda village has promoted the rapid development of a special industry producing Tibetan incense and the rural cultural tourism through the rational use of historical and cultural resources and brought a higher level of income for the village.First the article introduces the regional environment, history, culture and economy of Tunda village briefly. Then, it deeply analyzes the development of the transition of traditional agriculture and animal husbandry, the industrialization in family handicraft of Tibetan Incense and the formation and development of rural culture tourism. Next, the article summarizes the achievements of Tunda’s economic development. At the end, it gives the solutions about how to improve the shortage which still exists in the economic development in Tunda village.As a village with China ethnic characteristics, Tunda seizes the opportunity of the times, uses fully the transport advantages that the village located along the Lari railway and the China-Nepal highway, makes a good use of the policies advantages of new urbanization strategy, as well as opens it up and enters a new development pattern of economic integration between urban and rural areas in Lhasa, so as to provide multi-channel herdsmen for people’s income and to build a rational economic content for the village’s long-term development. The economic development of Tunda village is a typical one in minority areas. It may support a great deal of experience for the other villages to learn.
