Since the reform and opening up, China’s industrial structure has undergone significant changes, from "primary, secondary, tertiary" to "tertiary secondary, primary" structural change, China’s urbanization level is rising. In the context of China’s rapid economic growth, the pace of industrialization is accelerating, the income of urban residents and rural residents have been greatly improved, but the income gap between urban and rural residents continue to emerge. Based on the previous industrial structure theory and the theory of income distribution analysis, combined with Chinese scholars’ studies of the relationship between urban and rural income gap, this paper analyze the industry structure and urbanization and urban-rural income gap, and a simply analyze the relationship between urbanization and industrial structure, employment structure Empirical part of this article, mainly applies the data since China’s reform and opening from 1978 to 2014, through the establishment of univariate and multivariate linear models doing unit root test, cointegration test for quantitative study, obtained that there is a long stable relationship between the industrial structure change and urbanization and the income gap between urban and rural areas,changes in the industrial structure is the main cause of the income gap between urban and rural areas, with the increasing second and tertiary industries, the income gap between urban and rural areas is growing; the level of urbanization and urban-rural income gap is positively correlated, that is, with the level of urbanization improving, the income gap continues to expand. In addition, the paper also considers the main factors in regional development, Chinese eastern, central and western panel data analysis were done to study separately.
