The Study Of Approach To Ecological Civilization Construction In Perspective Of Technological Innovation

In essence, the history of human civilization is a history about the relationship between humans and the nature. During the long-term evolution and progress of human civilization, humans and the nature have maintained a harmonious relationship with each other. With the emergence of bronze and iron, humans moved from the primitive civilization period into the agricultural civilization period. Later, the invention and use of the steam engine ushered in the industrial civilization period. The industrial civilization contributed to rapid development of the economic society. The material wealth created over the short four hundred years far outweighed that created over the past thousands of years. Despite of the remarkable material wealth, a series of ecological problems were caused. The unprecedented consumption of resources above and under the ground seriously impaired the ecological balance of the nature. Since the 1960 s, humans have been faced with an unprecedented globalization trend of ecological crisis. Explosive growth of population, pollution of water resources, ozone depletion, resource exhaustion, species extinction and vegetable deterioration—all these problems have gone beyond social ideologies and borders to become a global common concern. The increasingly prominent ecological and energy crisis has plunged humans into a survival predicament that has never occurred before, and seriously threatened survival and development of humans. To get rid of the predicament, humans should cope with a series of ecological issues. Concerted efforts should be made to protect the environment, enhance ecological construction and build an ecological civilization featuring harmonious coexistence of humans and nature, and comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development of humans and society. Every civilization relies on science and technology to move ahead. Similar to all civilization forms, ecological civilization calls for technological progress to be built up. Correct technological concepts, reasonable technological development models, technological mechanisms in line with social development and innovation of ecological technologies based on three industries—all these can promote orderly development of ecological civilization from different perspectives. However, it should be pointed out that technological innovation is the most important driving force for the construction of ecological civilization.
