Research Of Hunchun International Cooperative Demonstration

China, Russia, DPRK, Republic of Korea and Mongolia launched the Tumen River Regional Cooperative Development Project under the initiative of the United Nations Development Programme in 1992, which are aimed at promoting the interconnection of Tumen Rive Region, forming certain scale sub regional economy in Northeast Asia area and promoting the cross-border international cooperation. Subsequently, as one of important countries of Northeast Asia, Japan has been actively involved in it.As a core city, Hunchun is actively participating in the international cooperation in Tumen River Region. Hunchun is situated in the Northeast of China, which is bordered on Russia and DPRK, and is known as the Golden Triangle of Northeast Asia. Hunchun is not only the sole coastal city which is closed to the Japan Sea, but also the strategic foundation which the merchandises can be traded through the foreign ports in Tumen River Region. Hunchun has been authorized to be the further opening coastal city since 1992. It has become the city of foreign opening window in Tumen River Region in 2009 during the construction of the Changchun-Jil.in-T.umen Development Pilot Region. Moreover, China’s State Council approved of building an International Cooperation Demonstration Zone in April,2012, which indicated that Hunchun has entered into a new developing period.
