The 21 st century is not only the era of rapid economic, but also the era of huge population. The urbanization process has brought about the problems of lacking houses in our times. In the current situation of high housing prices, affordable housing including public rental housing will become an important way to solve this problem.Public rental housing in Guangzhou is a kind of commodity housing under the ensuring policy, which is provided for middle or low income family with a limited construction. Guangzhou, which is lake of land resources, had a large-scale public rental housing construction in order to solve the housing problem. In this way, people can only adapt to the housing units, which is the lack of humane care.This article which is in the above context attempts to use the subjective evaluation, virtual reality technology, statistical analysis and other related disciplines to increase the public rental housing design qualities, which is guided by the subjective visual evaluation of the tenants.This thesis is composed of four parts.Part 1 is an introduction of the purpose, the value of this research, the current research in China and abroad, and the background of the public rental housing in Guangzhou and the teants,by definding the research object and boundary.Part 2 is the summary about the development of the public rental housing design in Guangzhou during the past years,as well as the current characteristic of the public rental housing in Guangzhou.Part 3 is the summary about the household concerned elements, which is based on data analysis and evaluation of visual simulation through virtual reality technology.Part 4 is the suggestion of the better public rental housing design mode in Guangzhou.
